Wordsworth House offers a wide variety of events and services for different ages and interests. Why not bring the family for trails and tastings in the school holidays? Book in your group and have a talk from one of the servants on Georgian life and times. Go on a behind the scenes tour or study day and improve your culinary skills. Or use Wordsworth house and our beautiful garden as a backdrop for some unforgettable wedding photos!

Mondays: Try your hand at decorating a pastry fish
Drop-in session in our Georgian kitchen from 11.30am to 1pm
Tuesdays: Create a traditional scented pomander

Thursdays: Riveting reads & tours, spooky stories, magical masks
July 24: Listen to the nursemaid read from Robinson Crusoe in the children’s bedroom at 11.30am or 12.30pm
July 31: Hear the maid-of-all-work’s spooky Cumbrian stories in the kitchen at 12pm. (Suitable for age 7 upwards)
August 7: Make a gorgeous butterfly or bug mask. 11.30am to 1pm or 2pm to 3.30pm
August 14: Join us for a family tour of the gardens where William and Dorothy once played. 12pm and 2.30pm
August 21: Hear the maid-of-all-work’s spooky Cumbrian stories in the kitchen at 12pm. (Suitable for age 7 upwards)

Fridays: Have a taste of Georgian cookery
Try a traditional 18th-century treat and take away the recipe. All day

Join the manservant in the yard for a game at 12pm or 2.30pm
Every day: Talks, readings & trails
Join us any day at 2.30pm for a ten-minute talk about Georgian life or a reading from Robinson Crusoe. Trails in the house and garden all day

British Food Fortnight
Come and see how the Georgians ate on high days and holidays. Extra special dishes will be created and on show every day. Drop in 11.00am-3.00pm.
Monday 22 September
World Car free day-talks and discounts!
How did John Wordsworth get to work? Learn about roads and transport in Georgian times before the car was invented. Bring your bus ticket and claim your double discount on public transport!
Talks at 12.00pm and 2.30pm.

Apple Day
Go apple mad at Wordsworth House. Trails, tastings, tours and competitions for all the family.
